I opted out of the group ride today. Just was not feeling it. Not sure if its the lack of exercise or sunlight or stress but I just was not gonna be real fun to hang out with. So I stayed in bed a bit longer (a bonus to me) and grabbed the iPod, bike and headed toward the beach. It was about 28 degrees so the sand would be a hit or miss. The condition on the beach can change by the hour. When you think its froze, its not. When it was smooth as a baby's behind yesterday, can be full of ice at a moments notice.
Once I hit the sand it was for sure frozen. However the few days prior of below zero nites left a ton of ice chunks strew about. Very rough riding today. But tolerable.
Put in a good hour next to the water with the Kings of Leon and Paramore. And I deemed the ride a good one.
Maybe skis tomorrow.
